

(1874: Jim Thorpe, PA) This home was designed by Addison Hutton (1834-1916) and is
a wonderful example of the French Second Empire style. It is constructed of brick and
stone. The gray sandstone porch and tower top, against the red brick, alleviate the need
for a separate color theme.

(1841: Newport, RI) This home was designed by Richard Upjohn (1802-78), an English
cabinetmaker who became the most distinguished architect of Gothic Revival churches in
America. This is a great combination of various features such as, gables and dormers,
diamond paned windows, Gothic label molds and even chimney pots.

(1856: Kennebunk, ME) This home was designed by George Washington Bourne, a
shipbuilder. The brick structure is encased in elaborately carved buttresses, linked
together with pointed arches and lacy spindles.
