Victorian Homes of the East Coast  - Page 4

Harry Packer Mansion

(1874: Jim Thorpe, PA) This home was designed by Addison Hutton (1834-1916) and is a wonderful example of the French Second Empire style. It is constructed of brick and stone. The gray sandstone porch and tower top, against the red brick, alleviate the need for a separate color theme.

Kingscote Mansion
(1841: Newport, RI) This home was designed by Richard Upjohn (1802-78), an English cabinetmaker who became the most distinguished architect of Gothic Revival churches in America. This is a great combination of various features such as, gables and dormers, diamond paned windows, Gothic label molds and even chimney pots.

Wedding Cake House

(1856: Kennebunk, ME) This home was designed by George Washington Bourne, a shipbuilder. The brick structure is encased in elaborately carved buttresses, linked together with pointed arches and lacy spindles.
